What we track and why.
This Cookies Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we set on your device when you visit NairaFunded, what each one does, and how to control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over time, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you visit or navigate between pages.
We use cookies and similar technologies (including local storage, session storage, and pixels) for the purposes described in this Policy. We classify every cookie we use into one of four categories: strictly necessary, performance, functional, and marketing. Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the Platform cannot function without them. The other three categories are set only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
Keep you signed in as you navigate between pages, so you don't have to re-enter your password on every page load.
Remember your preferences (language, theme, time zone, last account viewed) so you don't have to set them every time you visit.
Understand how you use the Platform so we can fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features that are actually useful.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
Measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns (only with your consent).
We do not use cookies to build a profile of your browsing activity on other websites. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
The Platform sets cookies in the following four categories. The category of each cookie determines whether it is set automatically or only with your consent.
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Platform to function. These cannot be disabled. Set automatically.
- Performance cookies — collect aggregated, de-identified usage data. Set with your consent.
- Functional cookies — remember your preferences (language, theme). Set with your consent.
- Marketing cookies — track your visit across our site and (with consent) across other sites to show you relevant advertising. We do not currently use marketing cookies; if we add them we will request your consent first.
4. First-Party Cookies We Set
The following cookies are set by NairaFunded directly. The list is reviewed every quarter.
- nf_session — strictly necessary. Session cookie. Stores a signed session token that identifies you to the server. Expires when you close your browser.
- nf_locale — functional. Persistent cookie (365 days). Stores your preferred language and time zone.
- nf_theme — functional. Persistent cookie (365 days). Stores your preferred colour theme (dark / light / system).
- nf_consent — strictly necessary. Persistent cookie (365 days). Records your consent decision to the cookie categories. Without this cookie we would have to ask you on every visit.
- nf_csrf — strictly necessary. Session cookie. Stores a CSRF-protection token used to prevent cross-site request forgery on form submissions.
5. Third-Party Cookies
When you visit certain pages of the Platform, the following third parties may set cookies on your device. We have listed each third party, the cookies they set, and a link to their privacy policy. The third parties are listed in alphabetical order.
The list below is reviewed every quarter. If a new third-party service is added we will update this page and (if the new cookies are not strictly necessary) request your consent before they are set.
- Cloudflare (cdn) — nf_cf_session. Strictly necessary. Protects the Platform against DDoS attacks. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Vercel (hosting & analytics) — _vercel_insights_id. Performance. Aggregated page-load metrics. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Stripe (payment processing) — __stripe_mid. Strictly necessary on the payment page only. stripe.com/privacy
- Google Analytics (analytics) — _ga, _ga_*. Performance. Set only after you click "Accept all" on the consent banner. policies.google.com/privacy
6. Your Choices & How to Control Cookies
You can control the cookies we set on your device in several ways. We honour all of the following mechanisms. If you use more than one, the most restrictive setting wins.
- Cookie consent banner — when you first visit the Platform, a banner offers you the choice to "Accept all", "Reject all", or "Customise". You can change your mind at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page.
- Browser settings — every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. The location of these settings depends on your browser. The "Help" menu of your browser will tell you how.
- Private / incognito browsing — most browsers offer a private or incognito mode that automatically deletes all cookies when you close the window.
- Third-party opt-outs — for cookies set by specific third parties, you can opt out directly through the third party's website. Links to the relevant opt-out pages are listed in Section 5 above.
- Mobile device settings — on iOS and Android, you can limit ad tracking through the device's privacy settings. This affects cookies set by advertising networks but does not affect our first-party cookies.
7. What Happens If You Block Cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break core functionality of the Platform. Specifically, you will not be able to sign in, place an order on the MT5 platform, or complete a payout request. We strongly recommend leaving strictly necessary cookies enabled.
Blocking performance cookies will not affect your ability to use the Platform, but it will prevent us from understanding how the Platform is used, which makes it harder for us to fix bugs and prioritise improvements. We will not be able to see aggregated usage data for your visit.
Blocking functional cookies will not break the Platform, but you will lose your saved preferences (language, theme, time zone) and will have to re-set them on every visit.
Blocking marketing cookies will not affect the Platform's functionality, but the advertising you see on other sites may be less relevant to you.
8. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) header or a "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal. We honour both signals: if your browser sends a DNT or GPC header, we treat that as a "Reject all" decision on the cookie consent banner and set only strictly necessary cookies.
The DNT and GPC standards are not yet universally adopted, and not all browsers send the signal by default. If you want to ensure your preferences are respected, you can also use the consent banner directly or adjust your browser settings.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your registered address and by a Platform banner at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Non-material changes (typographical corrections, additions of new cookies within an existing category) may be made without prior notice.
The current version of this Policy is always available at /cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates when the most recent changes were made.
